The algorithm can be used on parallel machines and networks of heterogeneous workstations. The inertial method is utilized to decompose a domain being discretized into a set of subdomains, and each of these subdomains is assigned to a separated processor. On each processor the corresponding subdomains is then meshed sequentially. The algorithm allows memory and time bottlenecks of a sequential mesh generation algorithm to be avoided.
