The aim of the work was to prove, the ability of neural networks to correctly evaluate the wear of tool, based on experimantal data. The structure, principle of operation and training/testing methods of the neural networks are discussed. The conclusions of the investigation assets the ability of FFBP neural networks to monitor the quality of machined surfaces.
