  <abstract>In the paper, a parallel mesh generation algorithm for the finite element modeling is proposed. The algorithm can be used on parallel machines and networks of heterogeneous workstations. The inertial method is utilized to decompose a domain being discretized into a set of subdomains, and each of these subdomains is assigned to a separated processor. On each processor the corresponding subdomains is then meshed sequentially. The algorithm allows memory and time bottlenecks of a sequential mesh generation algorithm to be avoided.</abstract>
