In the paper authors present analysis of relation between of chosen horizontal and vertical parameters in the aspect of the estimation of the properties of the topography of engineering surfaces. Test were presented of optimizing of the parameters number in the estimation of the topographyof surfaces. The described problem is also important in consideration of the fact that too large collection of parameters are used in the industry.
